BBC Midland Today Feature LED Street Lights

BBC Midlands Today featured Indal LED street lighting to demonstrate the high energy and cost saving made when councils replace traditional lighting with LED solutions.

The feature, aired on 13 June, included resident testimonials expressing their delight with the improvements Stela and Luma LED lighting has made to their neighbourhoods.

Many councils have taken the contraversial option to switch off lighting at night in an attempt to reduce energy costs and meet the governments carbon reduction targets. However, energy costs of up to 80% can be achieved by replacing tradional sodium and mercury lighting with LED.

Ralph Pars, Commercial Director with Indal WRTL, described the success Indal WRTL had enjoyed since launching Stela four years ago and that during that time it had developed an LED solution for every application area.
